Biographies of the authors

Mine Doğantan-Dack is a concert pianist and musicologist whose playing has been described as ‘an oasis’ and ‘heaven on earth’.  She was born in Istanbul, and studied at the Juilliard School. She performs as a soloist and chamber musician, and has a parallel career as a musicologist, holding a PhD from Columbia University. She is internationally regarded as a leading figure in music performance studies and has published many articles and several edited books. Mine is currently Professor of Music Performance Studies at the University of Manchester. also teaches at the Faculty of Music, Cambridge University.Contact: md787@cam.ac.uk / mine.dogantan-dack@manchester.ac.uk

Monia Brizzi is an assessing and consulting psychologist at the British Association for Performing Arts Medicine and Canary Wharf Psychology Clinic in London. She specialises in performance psychology, complex mental health and the psychological dimensions of physical and chronic conditions. Monia is currently a specialist advisor for the Music and Mental Health Group.
